Which Peace Do You Want?
During the dog days of summer, I feel for those who have to work outside.First you have the guys who work on the roads for the Department ofTransportation. They are out on the streets filling pot holes, repairingstreets with hot asphalt and breathing exhaust fumes from cars.
Then you have the roofers. They have to carry shingles up a ladder to theroof or they’re pouring hot tar over a roof all while working directly in thesun with no shade in sight. That is a brutal job. I know because I had to do itone summer.
Now some of us who are fortunate enough to work in an air conditionedenvironment have our moments of hard labor. It usually comes in the form ofmental labor and not physical labor. What I mean is we’re more tired because ofstressful situations than we are because of physical ones.

Stressful situations take a different toll on you. Yes it can wear on yourbody and make you tired but it can also cause you to be forgetful, angry, notfocused and have restless nights.
Stress will take away your peace if not dealt with!
John 14:27 says Peace I leave with you, My peace I give toyou; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
What situations in life are robbing you of peace? Is it the job? Is it yourmarriage? Is it a relationship? Is it an addiction? Or is it a no winsituation?
In order to have true peace, we must be connected with the ultimate peacemaker and His name is Jesus. The peace that He gives us is irreplaceable and itis not temporary.
The peace of Christ is a peace that surpasses allunderstanding which means it is greater than and transcends anythingwe can imagine or comprehend.
The peace of the world is temporary.
Think about the things we consider peaceful. They don’t last forever. Thereare only for a season unlike the peace that Jesus gives us.
So the next time you’re in a situation and all hell is breaking loose andyou are troubled and afraid, grab a hold of the peace of Christ and you won’tgo wrong.
